Born in Cologne, Germany, studies in Freiburg, Tubingen and Hamburg with various stages abroad (Jamaica, Malaysia, USA, South-Africa, New Zealand, Austria); living in Vienna; psychiatrist, psychoanalyst (Vienna Psychoanalytic Society) and author of fiction and non fiction books as well as art historian; the focus of his publications and lectures is on art psychology and the psychodynamics of art production as well as on interdisciplinary concepts for understanding human aggression; curator of several art exhibitions highlighting the connection between the psyche and art; president of the section Art and Psychiatry of the World Psychiatric Association (www-wpanet.org); honorary member of the World Psychiatric Association; married, two daughters.
